Anodizing X-Metals by XMC optics

ok... been reading the thread, liking what i saw... one question... is it preferable to send a polished frame? like for example i want to send in a polished juliet to be done in gold and will be also send a plasma juliet... so would it be -- polished with give like a shiny gold look? plasma will have like a matte gold look?

Ok, the darker the color the stronger the look will be. When you go to Gold the finish is a light color so the Gold color and the frame color complete so to speak. Take a look at @pjd1234 post about his Gold. That is a plasma frame done in the Gold color. In my initial post, in the pictures I show what a fully etched frame done in gold looks like. I actually change the finish of the Ti to do that. NO, you wouldn't want to do that to a polished frame. I am changing the current existing Ti Oxide layer that is on your frame at this time to a specified color. So your base finish will dictate how that color will show, due to its transparency. I would go with something dark in color for the polished frame so it pops, and then whatever for the plasma. The XS I did, initial post again, is Polished w/ gold. You can see how much the polished shines through compared to the darker colors that @MJLSr has shown. Best way to describe it. Remember the color is in shades of the color, not one specific color and due to the inconsistencies of Oakleys Ti frame composition, I can get milimetrically close again, but no two colors are identical scientifically. Let me know if you have further questions

Wrote an email at to their company, but after one week noch response.
Does anyone know a price for anodizing a frame?
Joerg

Again, excellent job and so far my favourite has to be the polished blue Juliet.

So, here is are some questions regarding "real" copper finish on the copper penny: was it a plating or anodized finish? Or was it some other process Oakley used?
And of course which one of the two would be closest to the original penny finish?

Nothing is close. Not sure at this point what the Penny Copper was done with. Not anodizing and not plating for sure. My Copper looks more like a Rustic Copper color rather than the typical Copper color associated with plating. The Factory Copper Penny is something totally different than both of those.

If I had the money right now to grab a pair off the electronic bay.com. I'd have to order an electric green/deep purple Joker build.
