Glasses other than oakley?

damn, I should have set the prices higher, the messages are coming in a flurry, only one scammer thus far
I paired them up with cases & microfiber bags that matched their aesthetic, & Voila!

check out THIS lens, I was a little gobsmacked:

It is a gradient that goes from blue to violet, to amber.
Lovely-Jubbly, except for the fact that it is not Polarized

& I got in a fair bit of stuff today, two pre-owned Oakley from eBay Auctions
& these:

got these^ Smith Optics Parallel 2 for only $44, the other lens is just plain grey, but I know where I can get other lens for this frame at a discount
My intention is to use these low-light non-polarized lens as my cloudy-day drivers.
but I also really dig the faux-rimless design

next up, there is a bit of a story to this one, how I got them so cheap:

I bought these from a shop that primarily does Prescription sets, but there was an option to buy without a prescription, as Wiley-X are often used as Safety glasses, thanks to their high-impact Resistance.
They arrived with NO lens, which was fine, I popped in the Apex Ultra-Viridian lenses from my black Valor frames.

The thoughts of an airbag going off in my car with glass lenses on my face....sends shivers up my spine.

I know they are better....but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
They meet ANSI Z80.3 or Z87.1 safety standards for impact and UV protection. Which means it would take way more than an airbag to shatter them.

I wish I had have known that!!

Thanks for the heads up......I'll know the next time.

Do you know are Smith Optics Glass lenses equally rated?

Looking at a lovely pair of Smith with Chromapop Glass lenses.

Not all Costa are certified for ANSI Z87.1.

Neither Maui Jim nor Costa del Mar are keen on ANSI ratings for impact-resistance.

superTHIN glass is automatically NOT going to pass an impact-resistance certification:

I have a pair of Smith with Chromapop Glass lenses, and yes, they meet the same criteria.

There might possibly be glass lens out there that do pass ANSI ratings for impact-resistance, but I am really really dubious that Smith or Costa have that certification on their glass lens.

Polycarbonate is far more impact-resistant, & also lower Density.
To get the glass to be thick enough for impact-resistance, they would look like Coke bottle bottoms, & Heavy!
