Question for everyone. We all know that Lux bought out Oakley in 2007 but when do you really consider Lux to take over the Oakley brand. We know there were concepts there when the acquisition took place but when do you think Lux finally took over.

That said. There were some misses for Oakley back in the day and there are lots of misses for lux nowadays.
But aside from the Muzm pairs that Lux puts out to appease the fanbase for a brief moment, What is the best Lux design that you enjoy the most.

For me feels like 2015-2016 seems like the defining moment when Lux fully took over.

And for me the Eye Jacket Redux is the one that I feel that Lux has hit on. Blend of Old and New even though the flat bridge is very controversial for others. lol

I'm interested to see what ya'll think about this especially with the recent "Return" of the Juliet in Hyper Limited release

In reality, they haven't produced a new model with true staying power since pre 2010. Models that were distinctly Oakley, died after the acquisition.

I can show a non Oakley person an over the top, and they will recognize it. Maybe not the name, but they've seen it and remembered it. There are very few, if any, modern models that can say that. The OTT is just an example. There are probably dozens of names and styles people recognize as oakley from pre 2010, I cant say that about anything newer

I feel that Madman is one of the last Oakley designs but that's mostly based off the other frames that come after the Madman which are very tame. But might be just me cause i like the Madman lol.
I’m a madman fan, I only ask because I wonder if that was in the Oakley pipe at takeover or a last attempt at true Oakley wildness?

In all reality probably a last attempt at Oakley wildness but one could hope it was a last design of Oakley.

I'm going with 2009...
As I understand it JJ had left just a year or two prior to that and that was the year of the TB2, C Six and PB1....
I think JJ's DNA was all over those models...
Great Poll!
The Pit Boss is their pinnacle, their acme, their peak. It feels like the epitomy of Oakley and their design aesthetics. The C Six, to me, just seems too engineered, but just my thoughts. Lastly the TB 2, is also, in my opinion, over engineered.

2016 is when the corp structure of Lux finally took over in North America. At the time I was a part-time sales associate and thats when Lux really took the reins on the company. That year they moved the Crop office from FHR to Mason, Ohio. It was a wild crazy time to be on the retail team. We had 3 GM of the brand and soooo much change. They really wanted to eliminate the clothing line and that year is when the Square O died too.
