Oakley Tailend: Now in Titanium

thanks but is known if it is "full" titanium or titanium league
theres any info or topic about materials?
i mean isnt x-metal a titanium+alloy league mix?
and what is the mix of C-5?

for example i have badman Ti but have some doubt about it and maybe its only a "name" for that, same as spike titanium
You really need to read the description of what Oakley put under the specific sunglasses on offer to know what each model is made from.
The new 2025 Tailend is made from Titanium, the original 2015 Tailend was only C5 metal, both are super light.

It goes the same with other Titanium frames on the website
Sutro Ti
Holbrook Ti
Contrail Ti
are all definitive Titanium frames the Deadbolt series are titanium aswell but just did not have the Ti in the actual name of the design,if you were to read it's description it indicates that it is made from Titanium.
Price is always a good determination as to the material used aswell.
Don't get me wrong though, when Titanium frames go on sale, it is sometimes better to grab them at that particular time, than to pay full price.

All Deadbolts are Ti or just some?

If this isTI underneath it’s heading into the sandblaster 😏

Need some lenses for these bad boys…🤔

The only thing I cannot answer is what grade of Titanium has been used in creating the frames, there are many different blends of titanium alloys out there, yes it states the Ti metal used in fighter jets, which looking up Wikipedia seems to give at least minimum 3 different version of titanium alloys that are used in aerospace technology, makes it sound good as a sell point, but it might actually be a lower strength grade than what is stated. I am no metallurgist so a definitive answer I cannot give.

If they stamped the frames with the Ti/alloy grade used, you would know exactly what the properties were for each model made.

Then blasted they shall be! Also o have to admit they are in a drawer as I thought lenses were not available…sheesh…Revant has em. Probably get a cheap set for fun…like as not these’ll go to @Chris A Hardaway for reader lenses at the end of the day 🤓

I’ll stop derailing the thread now 😏

I love the Tailend, hurts my soul a little that the Ti are just stagnant on their site. I picked up the ruby and tungsten but I kinda wish this release didn’t happen. My originals for whatever reason fit so much better.

All that being said, I laughed a little because I wonder how long these will be marketed as “new” and “holiday exclusive” since they were sitting there for a while as non-holiday exclusives…guess that didn’t help sell them.

Guess it comes down to who likes the design and are willing to pay the price for Titanium frames, I bought mine because of the 2015 Originals, also there would still be people who don't buy online and only buy in-store, so if they aren't available in-store they won't get sold either.

When the 2015 model came out I never new about the Tailend design, no advertisements about this model, I only happened by chance to go to the Oakley vault to get a new pair of glasses and came across them there, ended up buying the 4 pairs in-store that were on display.
