Plantaris

May I ask word from where / who? Am aware there is a lot of speculation at the moment. I am seriously contemplating getting the sand one (but at above retail price).
Someone who has a good track record (not perfect) regarding releases. I don't ask who gives them their information as they know former and current employees. When it comes to "limited" I would never hedge on Oakley following through as of late regarding the rumor mill, if you really want something it's best not to wait if you can afford it. The Sapphire 2N is a perfect example, it was supposed to be in the original release earlier in the year. Then you had colors limited to certain countries, etc. despite the information floating around at the time.

Thanks. I feel the same. Nowadays the releases are almost completely random. I also think the weird models that make Oakley special from the 90's are no longer the stuff that attract the average customers nowadays. No one wants the Plantaris other than us lol.
I have to disagree a little... I have been wearing all 3 of mine (no not at the same time) and I have received more compliments and comments on the Plantaris than anything else new that has been out in a long time. I think it intrigues people with its weirdness but does at the same time have that nostalgic feel. For what Oakley has put out there for sale they have sure been getting bought up. I am noticing the Asian market is really into them. I flipped a Satisfy to a guy in Hong Kong for $450.

Just wait until they slap a 24K prizm lens in a cool frame color along with some jade and sapphires colorways... everyone will be wanting to be the Lizard King!

I believe US is possibly the biggest market (and Oakley within that). I read on the internet recently, that the sunglasses sales market in US is way ahead compared to any other country, for example it more than doubles that of China, and is 10 times more than UK. The SATISFY Plantaris is still readily available on the website in Europe. Actually I don't think Oakley is all that popular in Asia. I am originally from Asia, none of the people I know wear it anymore (they do Ray-Ban, Prada, 100% etc). Not saying it is a bad thing, because when I go out (about 3 - 4 times a year), the Oakley stuff I find at discounted prices is great! I got 2 Sub Zeros in January for about $USD100 each. The one that really stood out was a bronze colour-ish Holbrook, for like $USD70! In September, the QNTM Kato was half price on launch day (not in Oakley shop of course), I bought 4 at about $USD200 each. My sand Plantaris also now coming from a friend in Hong Kong, they still have it in stores! I am headed out to Asia again next week, am wondering what I might come across this time.

I decided that I quite like the sand one also, and therefore decided not to wait, since I am essentially paying retail price plus postage. I do wonder whether I will see more when I head out to Asia next week. I bought the Stonewash a while ago from a US website, but I think there may be more independent boutiques selling them in Asia.

I'm waiting... still waiting! I hope they release Stonewash/DWP or some other cool colorway before the end of the year.
Ask and you shall recieve.
