Glasses other than oakley?

I guess my eyes have just gotten accustomed to the Hyper-Vivid Oakley Prizm lenses, because I seem to have some of The Most Vivid Maui Jim lens & I honestly think they are not that Vivid:

I polled two different sources for a Vivid ranking of Maui-Jim:

The SuperThin Glass High-Contrast Bronze was a Wow moment for me, the first time I put them on, but the Maui-Brilliant & Maui-Pure materials seem to wash out more.

On with the Zeal Optics delivery, coming soon.
Those might just be my huckleberry, if their claims are true.

Has anyone tried Electric?
Jason Momoa is endorsing their eyewear:

Have you seen these?

What did you think?
Yeah....love the SWP.

Basically a Prizm Tungsten Polarised "Lite"

Dials back the "colour shift" a bit.

Fantastic looking lense in the frame.

Also, impressed with the Prizm Jade that the frame came with.

I will put these into my Holbrook Mix that currently have a set of MRY Ultra Emerald Green.

I normally only use Polarised lenses.....but the Holbrook Mix are not used for driving at the moment...so I'll forgo the polarisation (for now)

That was also what I thought, like a baby brother to Tungsten.
The 24K Gold lens seems like the offspring of Deep Water & Tungsten.

I do believe Jade is one of the Prizm that does not come in a Polarized version.

incoming!

Those shield style are just plain ugly to me, *& I wonder if they had a day of fun in their whole life,

but this was the lowest price I have seen for the white frame version & my eye is on trying the purported most Vivid lens from Spy+

If it is not all that & a box of crackers, easily returned.

If it is, then i will set my sights on a set of their Rebar glasses.

"I think" the Prizm Jade does come in Polarised....but in limited styles.

"I think" it's available for Holbrook XL but not the standard 57mm Holbrook.

Might order a set of 24K Gold Polarised (the Oakley ones....not MRY)

hmm, seems there are a lot of Prizm Polarized Jade sold in the glasses, but they are not available to purchase as a replacement lens from Oakley

I see that as a challenge

I seem to have forged a very good relationship with an Italian online seller....who in turn, have a good relationship with Luxotica.

I am going to try and get 57mm Prizm Jade Polarised for Holbrooks.... (if they are produced....I will get them)

My relationship with my creditors has improved, I have bought so much stuff lately that they increased my credit line.

I am fully impressed, as good as Maui Jim High-Contrast Bronze, in my opinion.

I kind of hate the case for it, though:

more on the Wiley X,
I love, Love, LOVE Them!

The high-contrast warm view does not wash out like it does with Maui-Jim, not in the least.
I was looking at a brick wall after having driven with them on for a while & it was still just as vivid as it was earlier in the day.

Perhaps not Prizm Tungsten vivid, but getting there.

the Polarization is brown, not black:

One thing I noticed, it makes every windscreen that approaches appear slightly rosy.
You can actually see the sandwich-glass 'waves' if you look closely.

I think it actually has to do with the anti-shatter tempering of the glass.

This happened with some GoodR I had, with a very Pink lens, but it was to the point of distracting & off-putting.
If you want a super-pink lens, get the GoodR with Gopher in the name.

Here is a the view through some that I received yesterday, I promptly put them back in the box & returned them, 3 miles away.

I get SO tired of the Marketing LIES.
They claimed this is a Bronze base-tint & ultra high-contrast. All lies!

arrived moments ago, Zeal Salida:

this photo shows the appearance of good saturation, but unfortunately I moved a little too much for it to show the Clarity, which is great

PXL_20260313_201452653.NIGHT.jpg

before putting them on, they appear more Saturated than the Maui Jim High-Contrast Bronze, but they also wash out in the sun, just like M.J. Bronze.
This is obviously by design & I suppose most people enjoy that.

I definitely got a bit of Wow-Factor when I stepped outside with them on, similar to my first time with SuperThin Glass High-Contrast Bronze.

Comparatively, to Maui-Jim, I would rate them about the same as my Maui-Sunrise.

Definitely a Maui Jim product, even the Packing List has Maui Jim prominent in the corner.
relatively budget-friendly, but not by a lot
These were under $100, but for another $55 I could have gotten gotten Ho'okipa from Walmart.

By the Way, those Ho'okipa are so lightweight that mine were blown away today.
Thank goodness it was just the readers, now they have the tiniest little nick in the top edge of the lens.

These Salida are also incredibly lightweight, but I also enjoy the transparent frame.

In my mind's eye of a plan, I am going to pare down my collection a lot over the Summer & keep sleepers like this, one pair of SunCloud Zephyr, the Hobie floaters, Rēvo Drive lens, Native-Eyewear Ridge-Runner

Those will not sell for anything, but they are figuratively punching above their weight-class.

Also the Parallel 2 from Smith, but not with the Smith lens. The frame is really light & has semi-rimless design that appears fully rimless, similar to Ho'okipa.

After some time selling some shades, I can see very obviously that people are loving the Oakley & other brands are a hard sell.
Costa & Maui-Jim a near second

Rēvo are damn good, but no one knows about them.
Wiley X, only former military are interested
