Glasses other than oakley?

after my Maui Jim readers getting a knock yesterday, I decided to put them in the box for the Twenty-Dollar readers I recently got:

It might also help get the temple-arms straight again, because they are not evenly pointed, & this box holds them in place.

I am beginning to think that I am 'allergic' to MauiPure material.

First time was with the Blue-Hawaii in my first Ho'okipa & it has happened again a couple of times, including today with the Maui-Sunrise.

They start to give me that feeling that I want to remove them, which I normally get with cheap sunglasses.

When I put the SuperThinGlass on the problem went away.
MauiBrilliant also does not do this to me, but it is the least saturated of all.

I also noticed that Maui-Sunrise & High-Contrast Bronze in SuperThin Glass look exactly the same, as far as the tint & saturation goes.

MJ STG is their best lens, hands down!!

With Costa, I cannot really see a difference between their glass & poly lens, but the difference is quite noticeable with M.J., & it is some irony considering their claims about their materials.

You gonna give the Ultra a try at any point?

If it was not over $200 for the experiment, I would:

shipping = $10
taxes = $10

Joma Shop sells M.J. for discounted prices, but not Ultra.
I saw Blue-Hawaii Ho'okipa on there over the weekend for only $70.

I ran out of runway for buying more & also dosh, so I went slumming today.
Ross for Less & T.J. Maxx have GoodR brand glasses & they are out in the open to try on.

The sporting goods store has them, but they cost twice as much & it is a bit of a pain in the arse to open each box & pull them out to see what they are like. The ones in the discount store are missing the box cover, but still have the microfiber bag.

So, you can easily see them & try them on.

First up, the Super Rosiest lens I have yet to experience:

but, to look at them from the front, you would never guess it:

the polarized view is Deep Red:

similar to the Cobat Rose
but, these weirdly still show the sky as blue, perhaps due to the green mirror

I feel kind of stupid for ordering the Polarized Trail / Cobalt Rose from Walmart/Vonxyz now.

They do a good Gradient lens, I have a similar lens on a GoodR shield style, but that one is more brown & this one is more Bronze.

The polarization of this Violet lens is similar the that of the super-Rosey lens, only it is Gradient.

I bought these for only $10, mainly for the really cool snap-open pouch, but the gradient Amber is quite good for making any day look like it is sunny.

This has been deemed Spy+ most Vivid lens: Happy-Boost Ice-Blue Spectra Polarized:

What do you think?

I have until 20 April to return the Spy & I am crossing my mind over it.

It is definitely better than their Orange Mirror version of Happy Boost, but I am not sure it reaches that Vivid level that I seek.

Just chasing my tail lately, because it is tough to beat stuff like Costa Green Mirror.
Even Maui-Jim, I cannot get my head around how it is touted as the Gold Standard for Rose.

I washed both my MauiPure Ho'okipa on Monday, I mean a good washing with dishwashing detergent.
That works for a while, but then the eye-fatigue sets in.

I took MauiRose on my journey yesterday & it is fine for about 22 minutes, then I start to feel Blah, like I am looking at the world through a thin veil.

The GoodR Rosier-than-Rose lens is punching above its weight-class, those are only $17 at T.J. Maxx.
Putting the M.J. back on after that was disheartening.

re: Costa Green Mirror
I do have a set of Ultra-SR91 Kaenon on the way with a similar lens, which some claim is even better than Costa. I love the Hard-Kore Kaenon I have, so there is hope.

Also ordered what appears to be a discontinued

Serengeti Corrente 7698

Drivers Gold lens

They are part of the same umbrella of companies as Spy: Bollé

Taking the Spy Happy Boost for my driving today & will compare directly with an Oakley Shallow Water.

If I could buy a set of Spy Rebar with this lens, for a good price, I would.

addendum:

something I did realize, & had advocated for in the past
sometimes a cheapish pair is just fine, & sometimes there is so much smoke & mirrors in the high-end maker's ad campaigns

I should probably add my new Zeal glasses to this mix today. I gave them a pass & at first was not that keen on them.
but they are not butt-ugly like the Spy Monolith shield
