Why when designing the Juliet, XX, and Penny, didn't you use a small screw, or other means of attaching the flex coupler? This would have made it user serviceable. Was it an engineering call? Was it to gain the additional profit of the rebuild? It seems like there would have been a better way to attach the flex coupler.

My other thought is that it wasn't an issue for any of us, and were designed that way because they were warrantied for life, until the Lux buyout changed the warranty policy.

Hi Jim, in your opinion, what would be the best way for us die hard Oakley fans to provide suggestions / requests to Oakley? I envision a more collaborative effort within the forum to consolidate the top requests / suggestions overall. Similar to how NEST (learning thermostat) posted up thier most requested features and everyone voted on it. Then in the next release, the top voted requests were implemented. I understand it's not quite the same but I'm sure there are many voices here and good suggestions and requests.

For example, many of the die hard X Metal fans would easily pay double or triple the current costs of replacement Unobtainium if Oakley continued to make them. I'm sure we would also pay a premium for replacement lenses, etc. Suggestions that hopefully won't cost Oakley/Lux much to produce while making a healthy profit and resulting in satisfying a huge fanbase seem to make a lot of business sense. What do you think?

Hi Jim,

Thank you for sharing your mad science vision with the rest of the world. It's also really cool that you are wiling to spend some of your time at this forum. I had a chance to take a class with Hans M. when he volunteered with the Academy of Arts awhile back. Really cool guy and awesome designer. You left Oakley in good hands.

My question to you is what made Oakley go into making watches and did you had a hand in designing the watches as well or were you only focused on eyewear?
