Hey Jim, just wanted to know why you didn't name the x metal xx to Romeo since xmxx is basically a larger(male/masculine size?) Juliet and came around the same time, and Romeo to XX since it has a big @55 "X" for a nose bridge?
I'd love to answer but I have no idea what you are asking.

Jim

Jim

Sorry I meant to ask.
Why didn't you name:
X Metal XX --- should have been named Romeo since it is a larger version of the Juliet and was release around the same time
X Metal Romeo ---- should have been named XX since it has a big "X" for a nose bridge.

I still have no idea what you are asking. I think we named them just right.

Hey Jim, just wanted to ask again.

What is the story with the crate of Mars glasses that was mysteriously "found" at HQ a few years ago? I guess the story is that years after the Mars was discontinued there was a batch of sealed Mars found including Leather, Crater and standard X-Metal pairs deep in the HQ warehouse.

No I'm not asking about the Crater Mars.

I'd love to hear how these were found or what not.

I sold Oakley in 2007. I have no idea what happened after that.

Here's another question, but you might not be able to answer.

Whatever happened with the David Flores Artist Series releases? It was immediately recalled and I heard most of the pairs were destroyed. What's the story with that?

Hey Jim, it's great to have you here on the forum. I'm an employee at a O store and I love the company. I recently watched the 60 minutes report on Lux, and from what I gathered they made it seem like you were forced into selling to continue making the brand bigger. They said on there that if you didn't sell they were going to take Oakley out of all their stores (indirectly, it was implied), in which they literally own everything. I find it pretty crazy that Lux is basically a monopoly of the sunglass world and nobody really even knows the company. I'm just wondering if what they said in the report is true or not.

Thanks!

I would kinda bet that there are non-disclosure agreements regarding the actual "brass tacks" and intimate details of the purchase (or takeover, possibly) in place that would preclude open discussion on a WWW discussion board lol....

Combo Question For Jim and Chop:

Chop, pretend Jim wants you to make him a one-off, what do you make him and why? (pretend you have access to any source material you wanted)

Jim, Chop has made some great custom jobs for people on here. If you were to have a "fan" do a one-off for you what frame would you give him to do up for you and theme of the work done to them?

Wow, that is an interesting question actually. First, thank you for the praise, it is greatly appreciated. Second...Hmmmmm...That is really a tough one. Given access to any source material. I would still lean towards a Carbon/Titanium Hybrid. Kind of a Pit Boss ala C-Six actually. Personally, and no disrespect, but I just don't like the damn C-Six. I don't like the fit, and I don't like the shape. I would tweak the Boss 1 to not create the pressure at the rear points like it does, then have it machined out of solid carbon fiber like the C-Six, add titanium plates as it has, but lighten them a touch, and coat them like a Rado Watch in the ceramic coating so they would virtually never scratch..But all blacked out matte of course. The icons however, I would have cast in solid platinum just because that's baller haha. And the box Icon, well, due to the weight of it, casting it in Platinum would be out, however a solid machined Carbon Fiber icon would be sick... And to top that off, it would have a matching Time Tank with everything machined out of Carbon Fiber too and have a titanium face with platinum accents. It would be a total set. Yup, that would be the custom I would do. Top to bottom, truly elite, no nonsense.
