Anyone tried the Oakley Thumps?

I recently saw a resurgence in the vintage Oakley Thumps, curious if anyone has tried them. I think it's such a cool concept (while not entirely practical by today's standards) and would love to know about the user experience.

Do the earbud/speakers adjust enough to fit most people? Is the sound quality okay? Is everyone I walk past gonna hear what I'm listening to?

I love the intersection of tech and fashion and have been looking to get my hands on some. Hope to hear what you all think of em

cheers

I have the Thump Pro and still works. Just hard to get the music on there and one of the earbuds is clearly degrading. but a very cool idea.

Here’s me wearing mine a few years ago. I rocked them in almost every episode.

@flyer seems like you have a few pairs.
Yes, I have two original (flip-up lens) Thumps (128mb), and a Split Thump (512mb).
The sound quality is more than acceptable, and the earpieces are sufficiently adjustable fore/aft and in/out. It’s quite easy to copy/paste files into the units, and so long as you keep the file sizes reasonable, it’ll hold 30-40tunes.
To be honest, I love how they are independent units, not connected to Bluetooth, and I can listen uninterrupted by text/email/phone. That’s rare nowadays.
Oakleythumprepair.com does a great job of refurbishing, including battery replacement, repair and modification, and storage upgrades. He also occasionally has units available for sale. They sometimes become available through the Exchange.

They were good when they first came to market. Had a couple of pairs but always found after a couple of hours they made my temple area hurt (just in front of my Ears)

Over time they both failed. Think sweat ingress doesn’t do them any favours.
Have a pair of Split thump still but only 1 ear speaker working currently.
