The Pit Boss was my last real involvement, but I won't take sole credit for it. There are designers and CAD modelers at Oakley that I worked with to create this one. It was the culmination of lots of things we learned over the years and a great example of the design language, SLOGGING, that was established in the early 1990's. I have worn my pair of 1st prototypes every day since they were put together.

what is your favorite or preferred lens color you guys created? Is it a stock colorway, or something never released? Also, any insight on the -Red Iridium lens and why it was so rarely seen? I had it in a Monster Dog and loved it, but it is very uncommon. Thanks Jim

Surprisingly, I mostly use Black Iridium lenses. I like neutral. Last I remember, the Red Iridium was especially difficult to do with lower yields (higher costs). I'll double check that one.

is that the Red Iridium from way back in the day, or the Negative Red?? I was more curious about the Red on clear base...very uncommon, but killer. Also, what sparked the change from Orange Mirror to Fire? I remember my original Razor Blade way back in the 80's had the Orange, but the base was a neutral base vs the Fire on the amber/contrasting base. Always something that fascinated me

There is no such thing as a stupid question in my book. With that being said, is there any way to get across an idea to you that could potentially improve a process not only for OAKLEY Rx but the entire optical industry?

If it is an idea that you want to just share... send me an email and I'll pass it along. If it is an idea and you would be looking for compensation you would need to contact Oakley directly, get their interest, sign an NDA and then see if they like it. I have no standing there to get in the middle of a transaction. My best. Jim
